Cookie consent cleanup for Chrome.

Shieldly can help reduce repeated cookie prompts and page distractions so common browsing tasks take fewer clicks.

Reduce repeated cookie banners

Cookie prompts and consent walls can interrupt reading, shopping and search. Shieldly's optional distraction cleanup is designed to reduce common repeated banners and visible prompts where browser rules can safely apply.

Not a replacement for consent choices

Some websites require a real consent choice or account action. Shieldly focuses on reducing visual clutter and repeated interruptions, while per-site controls let you pause cleanup when a page needs its native flow.

Works with pop-up reduction

Cookie cleanup pairs naturally with pop-up blocking, tracker blocking and ad cleanup to make pages feel lighter.

Consent choices and visual cleanup are different

A cookie banner is both a visible interface and, in some cases, a way to communicate a preference to the website. Hiding that interface alone is not evidence that optional cookies were rejected. Shieldly includes consent-related controls, but results depend on the supported page and its implementation. When the choice matters, verify the website's privacy settings directly rather than inferring consent from the disappearance of a banner.

Use Better Cookie Consent carefully

Where supported, Better Cookie Consent attempts to use available reject or save choices before cleanup. A site may use unfamiliar wording, nested dialogs or a changed layout that the feature cannot handle. Check a representative page after enabling it. If the overlay remains stuck, adjust the cookie-related setting for that site and reload so you can make the choice manually. Avoid interpreting an unresolved banner as permission to bypass a site's access requirements.

Recover access to a site's preference dialog

You may need to revisit a consent dialog to change a choice. Temporarily adjust the relevant Shieldly control, reload the page and look for the site's privacy or cookie settings link. Confirm the requested preference in the website's interface. This is separate from clearing browser cookies, which can sign you out or remove saved site state. When reporting an issue, describe which button or dialog failed without including personal account information.

Frequently asked questions

Does a missing banner mean every cookie was blocked?

No. Banner visibility and cookie storage are different things. Check the browser and the site's preference controls when you need to verify cookie behavior.

Can I change my mind after a banner is handled?

Use the website's privacy settings. If Shieldly interferes with that dialog, adjust its consent handling for the site and reload first.
