Chrome ad blocker for cleaner everyday browsing.

Shieldly helps reduce common ads, trackers, pop-ups and visual clutter in Chrome while keeping protection settings local on your device.

What Shieldly blocks in Chrome

Shieldly is designed to reduce banner ads, visible ad containers, common tracking requests, YouTube page interruptions, cookie prompts and repeated page distractions. It combines network filtering with page cleanup so websites feel lighter without asking you to manage dozens of settings.

Why local-first matters

Many browser tools depend on cloud accounts or remote dashboards. Shieldly is built around local browser storage for preferences, counters, per-site rules and protection modes. That makes the core experience simple: install the extension, choose your protection level and browse with fewer interruptions.

Good for repeated browsing

A Chrome ad blocker is most useful when it stays predictable. Shieldly includes Compatibility, Balanced and Strict style protection choices, plus pause and site controls for pages that need exceptions.

Install and check your first page

Open the Shieldly listing in the Chrome Web Store using the desktop profile where you browse. Review the permission prompt before confirming installation, then open Shieldly from the extensions menu. Start with Balanced mode and reload a normal website that contains advertising. Pages opened before installation may need a refresh before page cleanup appears. The store and Chrome's internal settings pages are not useful tests because extensions have restricted access to browser-owned pages.

Choose a mode around the sites you use

Balanced is a practical starting point for everyday browsing. If a checkout, sign-in form or video player stops responding, use Compatibility for that website and reload it. Strict is a setting to evaluate against your own sites, not a promise that every request can be blocked without consequences. Keep a note of the page and the action that failed so you can compare behavior after changing one setting.

Understand what the counters measure

A hidden page element and a blocked network request are different events. Removing an empty advertising container changes the layout; blocking a request prevents a matching connection. Do not add those figures together as a count of unique advertisers or threats. Available request history can also be incomplete. For a meaningful check, compare the same page and action, and use Diagnostics when the visible result does not match your settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Shieldly in every Chrome profile?

Install and configure it in each profile that needs protection. Local settings in one profile should not be assumed to apply to another.

Why does one advertisement still appear?

Sites change their delivery methods. Check that protection is enabled, the site is not allowed, and the relevant module is active. No filtering setup can promise to remove every ad on every page.
