Tracker blocker for more private Chrome browsing.

Shieldly reduces common tracking requests and helps limit background tracking noise while keeping extension settings local.

Reduce common tracking requests

Web pages often load scripts and requests used for analytics, advertising measurement and cross-site tracking. Shieldly is designed to block common tracker patterns as part of its browser protection layer.

Privacy without a cloud account

Shieldly does not require an account for core protection. Settings, statistics and per-site preferences are designed to live in Chrome storage on your device.

Works with ad blocking

Tracker blocking works alongside ad blocking and cosmetic cleanup. This layered approach can reduce both invisible tracking requests and visible page clutter.

What a tracker rule actually does

A tracking-related request can be separate from the visible content you wanted to read. Shieldly uses matching rules to reduce supported requests and page activity associated with tracking. This is useful even when a page looks unchanged. A clean layout alone does not prove the absence of tracking, and a blocked request is not automatically a malicious attack. Interpret the result according to the type of rule and the page behavior.

When tracking protection affects a useful feature

Analytics, embedded services and interactive content can share infrastructure or dependencies. If a form or widget stops working, narrow the test to the affected website. Use a compatibility adjustment and repeat the failing action after a reload. Avoid adding a broad custom block simply because a domain name looks unfamiliar. A local diagnostic report and the steps to reproduce the failure are more useful than a long list of assumptions about every request.

Use tracking protection as one privacy layer

Blocking known patterns does not make an account session anonymous or conceal your public IP address. A website can still receive information you intentionally submit, and browser cookie settings remain relevant. Review site permissions and account choices separately. Shieldly's local storage approach concerns its own settings and counters; it should not be interpreted as a claim that websites, your network provider or other extensions stop processing data.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there fewer blocked requests on a repeat visit?

Pages can load different resources, use cached content or change their requests between visits. Counters should not be interpreted as a stable benchmark.

Is a tracker blocker the same as a VPN?

No. Filtering selected browser requests does not route your connection through a VPN or replace your public IP address.
