Install from the store in Microsoft Edge
Open the Shieldly Chrome Web Store listing inside desktop Edge. Edge supports installing extensions from that store, though it may ask you to allow extensions from other stores. Read the requested permissions and confirm only when you are on the intended listing. After installation, open the extensions menu and locate Shieldly. A work or school administrator can restrict extension installation; changing Shieldly settings cannot override that policy.
Separate Edge settings from Shieldly settings
When investigating a broken page, account for both the browser's privacy settings and Shieldly's filtering. Begin with a single reproducible action, such as opening a menu or starting a video. Change Shieldly to Compatibility for the affected site, reload and repeat that action. Avoid changing several browser and extension settings at once, because that makes it difficult to identify which layer affected the result.
Move settings without assuming they sync
An Edge profile has its own extension state. Installing Shieldly after using it in Chrome does not mean that the same allowlist, custom domains or protection mode is present. Use the Backup page to export settings from the original installation, review the data and import it into the destination profile. Confirm the mode and site exceptions afterward. Keep the exported file private because it may reveal the websites you have configured.
