Single Purpose
Shieldly's single purpose is to provide local-first ad blocking, tracker blocking, YouTube cleanup, page distraction reduction and per-site protection controls in Chrome.
Permission Use
Shieldly uses browser permissions only as needed to apply blocking rules, clean page elements, remember settings, manage site-specific choices, operate extension controls, schedule filter checks, support WebRTC leak protection and provide local diagnostics.
Permission Examples
Shieldly may use declarativeNetRequest for local blocking rules, storage for local settings and statistics, privacy for WebRTC leak protection, tabs for current-site controls, alarms for update checks, contextMenus for quick actions and host permissions for applying protection on visited websites.
Limited Use
Shieldly does not sell user data, does not use extension data for advertising, and does not transfer extension data for unrelated purposes. Any extension data handled by Shieldly is used only for the disclosed extension functionality.
Local-First Storage
Settings, statistics and site preferences are designed to remain in Chrome storage on the user's device unless a user explicitly exports or removes them.
